On May 22nd, the Prime Timers will be seeing the Church Basement in "A Mighty Fortress is our Basement" at Circa '21 in Rock Island. Cost per ticket is $38.50 and includes the show, dinner, and gratuity. Join area County Farm Bureaus at the "Ag in a Day" teacher workshops for hands-on activities, grant opportunities, farm tours, and free resources for your classroom. The workshops will be held on June 11th and 12th. The workshops are completely free to attend and will include lunch and refreshments both days.
The "Ag in a Day" workshops are open to all teachers and educators. Teachers will have the choice to attend workshops at two different locations:
June 11: Monsanto Agronomy Center, 1677 80th St, Monmouth, IL.
June 12: Black Hawk East Campus, Building 1 Conference Room, 26230 Black Hawk Rd, Galva, IL (5 miles south of Kewanee, IL).
On March 22, 2013, 250 women from Northwestern Illinois attended the Women in Agriculture held at Jumer's Casino and Conference Center in Rock Island. The conference started with a general session on Estate Planning. Erika Eckley, Iowa State Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation, discussed "Common Mistakes in Agricultural Estate Planning & Leasing."
