Ag In The Classroom Committee Meeting

The Mercer County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Committee will be meeting on Monday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mercer County Farm Bureau Board Room to discuss ACE Camp 2012. Prime Timers at Iowa Machine Shed and Putnam Museum in Davenport

The Mercer County Farm Bureau Prime Timers will enjoying lunch at the Iowa Machine Shed followed by viewing the special Anne Frank exhibit at the Putnam Museum in Davenport. Lunch will be served at the Iowa Machine Shed at 11:15 a.m. followed by the museum at 1 p.m. The cost to go on the trip is $17.00 which includes your lunch and entry into the museum. Mercer County Farm Bureau Board of Directors Meeting

Prime Timers Potluck Luncheon

The Mercer County Farm Bureau Prime Timers will be meeting for a Putluck Luncheon on May 29th at 12 p.m. in the Mercer County Farm Bureau Basement. Tina Matlick from the Mercer County Health Department will be giving a presentation on Helping Hands Home Services. ACE Camp 2012

Over two hundred second graders from the Sherrard and Mercer County School districts came to the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, May 8th for a day of learning about Agriculture, Conservation, and the Environment.

ACE Camp is a joint effort between the Mercer County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Committee and the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District to illustrate the interrelationship among agriculture, conservation, and the environment. The students rotated among 13 stations to have hands-on learning experiences.

2012 Mercer County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship Winners

9 students were fortunate enough to win a piece of the $9,500 that the Mercer County Farm Bureau Foundation awarded for scholarships in 2012.

"Ag ina Day" Teacher Workshops Scheduled

Join area County Farm Bureaus at the "Ag in a Day" teacher workshops for hands-on activities, grant opportunities, farm tours, and free resources for your classroom. The workshops will be held on June 11, 12, and 13!
